Before optimization is done on your site, it is imperative
that an efficient keyword
strategy is developed. As part of our commitment to aggressive Web
Positioning, we begin the day we receive your contract. The process
begins by assessing your company's keywords strategy - those specific
words and phrases for which you would like users to find your site under.
Next, we calculate the current algorithm
for each Search Engines for which you wish to optimize. This a process
involving both automation and some serious brainwork, but we are experts
at it. The SE's do not publish instructions on how to achieve top placement
among their rankings. This information requires an investigative edge,
powerful software and connections within the industry. Since SE's change
their criteria frequently, we keep up-to-the-minute with our findings.
Optimizing a site according to the current algorithm
includes insertion of keywords
in META tags and other
places to ensure exact match of keyword
relevancy and prominence.
Once we have achieved a few of these preliminary steps, we submit
your site to the search engines you have chosen. When a site is submitted
it has, in a sense, asked to be reviewed to appear on the search engines.
Search directories,
such as Yahoo and Open Directory use human editors who review each site
personally to assess whether or not the site is a legitimate business
that has been conscientious about their web positioning practices. Search
engines use "robots"
or "spiders"
which are automated to accomplish the same things.
The development of doorway
pages is a crucial step, also. "Doorways" or information
pages are little more than a lure for the major Search Engines that
you have chosen as part of our agreement. These doorways are actually
written in HTML and uploaded to the Internet. These pages are highly
optimized to satisfy the stringent criteria that the major Search Engines
require from their high-ranking sites. These criteria range from having
a specific number of words on the page to how many times those words
appear on the page and where they are placed! These pages must change
frequently to keep up with the ever-changing criteria the Search Engines
have established. The labor is in building these pages in the beginning
of the process, but after a few months, the focus turns to maintaining
and altering the pages to meet the standards of the Search Engines.
Along with the creation of doorway
pages, there is work done on your site to be able to place
your keywords in places which are invisible to the average viewer of
your site. InTheTop30.com uses only ethical practices and does not in
any way use a technique called "spamming".
Spamming comes in many forms, but is most often defined as "stuffing
keywords" or using invisible text of one's chosen keywords repeated
excessively. This is often accomplished as text on the pages of a web
site which is the same color as the background so as not to disturb
the aesthetic value of the page. InTheTop30.com will not copy the text
or HTML from another competitor's web site. InTheTop30.com advocates
the acceptable use of search engine optimization techniques and will
do everything in our power to position your site without using practices
which compromise your standings with the Search Engines.
Index Notification:
You should expect to see your site being
indexed (appearing within the Search
Engine database) within 6-10 weeks. Usually we see results much faster,
but once your site has been submitted, it becomes a waiting game with
the Search Engines. Most of them are much faster than they announce
on their submission pages and it also takes much longer for your site
to be reviewed the first time than consequent times.
Once we begin to see that your site has been indexed, you will start
to receive confidential weekly
reports which will list all the high positions on all your keywords
for the Search Engines you have chosen to pursue. These reports are
comprehensive and easy to understand, and provide you with direct links
to the Search Engine listings so that you can see for yourself the results
for each search. The reports are uploaded to our site and secured on
a page that is only disclosed to you, our client. A link to your report
will then be emailed, once the report has been refreshed. Each week's
report will remain online until it is refreshed with the following week's
report. You may print this report or send the link via email to your

The process of web positioning then continues, focusing on gaining --
and keeping -- high positions on as many keywords as possible on your
behalf. We are in contact with you throughout the process and we encourage
all of our web positioning clients to be sure and ask questions as they

One more thing
it is extremely valuable to
us to know if and how a prospective client found you throughout a Search
Engine search. Be sure and ask your new customers where they heard about
you! Your Internet
Service Provider (ISP) may already have something like this
in place for you. If not, we have sophisticated software to aid in the
tracking of your site's hits directly resulting from a Search Engine
listing. This reporting can be added to your customized or Standard
Web Positioning Agreement for an additional $50 per month.
